Adoption: Preparing for Parenting

Becoming is pleased to offer a program specifically designed to help adoptive parents and parents-in-waiting prepare for the unique challenges they may face. Conveniently offered as a one-day intensive course, this program will address common concerns of new parents as well as highlight often unanticipated lifestyle and relationship changes so as to help ease your transition into parenthood. A registered nurse and adoptive parent will address common concerns such as:

• infant/toddler feeding tips
• developmental milestones and creative play
• bathing and sleeping routines.
• current trends and popular toys/baby products
• choosing a pediatrician, common childhood illnesses and immunizations

• car seat safety and baby proofing your house

Cost: $160 per couple (or $144 for members), including two complimentary visits to our adoptive parent support group
